Wiki
UFC 20 Wiki
UFC 20 was the final event in the loose tournament format designed to crown a new Heavyweight Champion, which the UFC dubbed "The Road to the Heavyweight Title." Apart from featuring the only UFC win by future Pride superstar Wanderlei Silva in his first stint with the promotion, UFC 20 saw Pedro Rizzo emerge as a heavyweight contender following his knockout win over Tra Telligman, and featured the UFC Heavyweight Championship win of Bas Rutten over Kevin Randleman in a somewhat controversial decision that Rutten took after spending much of the fight on his back. After this fight, Rutten was talking about going down to the 200 lbs weight class to fight Frank Shamrock. However, Rutten damaged his elbow in the Randleman fight and then did not fight again for seven years.
