Wiki
UFC 101 Wiki
After a panned main event performance at UFC 97 against Thales Leites, Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva was matched up with former Light Heavyweight Champion Forrest Griffin in the co-main event of UFC 101. While many felt that Griffin would give Silva a run for his money, Silva knocked his opponent out in the first round in one of the most embarrassing finishes in MMA history. During the fight, Silva dodged Griffin’s attacks with ease, literally playing with his opponent before nonchalantly delivering the knockout at the 3:23 mark.
In the main event, Lightweight Champion BJ Penn finished Boston contender Kenny Florian with a Rear Naked Choke in the fourth round.
