In another Showtime-televised Strikeforce event, Robbie Lawler lost a somewhat controversial Unanimous Decision to former Light Heavyweight Champion Renato “Babalu” Sobral in a catchweight bout at 195lbs. Also on the card, Dream Welterweight Champion Marius Zaromskis lost his second consecutive fight in the promotion when he was knocked out by Evangelista Santos in the latter’s welterweight debut. In middleweight action, Tim Kennedy earned a shot at the Vacant Middleweight Championship by finishing Trevor Prangley in the first round, while KJ Noons made a successful return to MMA with a Split Decision win over Conor Heun.
