Pride Shockwave 2004 Wiki
Following the anticlimactic battle between Fedor Emelianenko and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in the Finals of the 2004 Heavyweight Grand Prix, which ended in a No Contest after an accidental head collision, the bout was rescheduled for the final event of the year, only this time the Pride Heavyweight Championship would be on the line. In one of the most anticipated rematches in MMA history, Emelianenko repeated his first performance over Nogueira by pounding his way to another Unanimous Decision verdict. Emelianenko appeared quicker and stronger throughout, and began to garner the first murmurs from fans that perhaps they were watching a legend in the making.
On the undercard, Ryo Chonan submitted Anderson Silva with a Flying Scissor Heel Hook in one of the most exceptional come-from-behind victories in MMA history.
