FROM FIGHT PROMOTION LEGEND FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP (WWW.LEGENDFC.COM):
January 2011 will mark one year since Australia’s Adrian Pang fought South Korea’s Nam Yui Chul to a draw at Legend Fighting Championship 1. Fight fans hailed it as one of Asia-Pacific MMA’s greatest lightweight clashes, and on January 27, both men will return to the Legend ring for a rematch to prove who the superior fighter truly is. With Pang holding both the Legend Lightweight Championship and a recent victory over Nam’s friend and teammate Yu Woo Sung, Nam will be on the hunt for both the title and revenge – things that Pang will not give up easily.
In the co-main event of the evening, Bae Myung Ho and Kim Hoon will clash for Legend’s Welterweight Championship, having both won their first round welterweight tournament matches at Legend 3. Bae has won three straight fights at Legend, using his outstanding grappling to control his opponents, and his powerful striking to beat them down. However, with a 22-second KO victory against top Australian contender Justin Murray at Legend 3, Kim has proven that he is a force to be reckoned with.
Also on the card, China’s Yang Zhuo steps down to the bantamweight class to take on young Australian phenomenon Michael Mortimer. Yang earned a submission victory over hometown hero Kenny Yeung at Legend 3, while Mortimer has finished his last three opponents in impressive fashion. And Indonesia’s Yohan Mulia Legowo takes on Jo Nam Jin of South Korea. Legowo earned Submission Of The Night honors for his victory over India’s Hardeep Singh at Legend 3, skills that he will need against Jo, an explosive ground-fighter. The winners of these two bouts will square off against one another for Legend’s Bantamweight Championship at Legend 5.
Also appearing on the card will be Legend veterans Tony Rossini (Australia), Pat Crawley (New Zealand), Li Jingliang (China), and Ning Guangyou (China). Join these 18 national champion fighters as they close out the Year Of The Tiger with a night of unforgettable MMA action!
