VTJ 6th was the 6th installment of Vale Tudo Japan since it's revival in December of 2012. The event took place on October 4, 2014 at the Ota City Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.
The event featured the finals of their 8 man flyweight tournament in which former Shooto featherweight champ. Hiromasa Ogikubo defeated foreigner “Little” Czar Sklavos by unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 50-45) to win the tournament and become the inaugural VTJ 125 lb. champ. After the fight, the newly crowned champ. Ogikubo expressed his desire of wanting to compete in the United States based Ultimate Fighting Championship organization and he also took the opportunity to challenge the DEEP flyweight champ. Yuki Motoya.
In the semi main event, former Shooto lightweight champ. Lion Takeshi made his return to Japanese mixed martial arts and VTJ losing a unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 30-27) to Pancrase lightweight kingpin ISAO in his 145 lb. featherweight debut fight.
Also on the card, DREAM featherweight champion Hiroyuki “Streetfight Bancho” Takaya pulled out another win his professional MMA career by knocking out Shooto featherweight prospect Ryogo Takahashi early into the second round with a brutal left hook.
MMA veteran Caol Uno kept his late age career win streak on track improving it to a 6 fight win streak by submitting foreign VTJ debutant Raja Shippen by choking him out late in the second round.
UFC, DREAM and Shooto veteran Kuniyoshi Hironaka bounced back from a recent KO loss to ISAO as he was able to pull out the win by submitting Korean Dong Hyun Kim with an arm triangle choke halfway through the second round.
Mamoru put an end to a 3 year 4 fight losing streak by pulling out a comeback victory over Shooto veteran Tobizaru early in the second round when the the referee decided to step in and stop the fight due to the amount of damage being imputed on Tobizaru.
Sengoku and Shooto veteran Shigeki Osawa suffered the first knock out loss of his career at the hands of Joji Mikami. In an exchange early in the first round, Mikami caught Osawa with a thrilling right hook that send Osawa to the mat knocking him out.
The first female fight in the history of VTJ's cage took place as newcomer debutant Kanna Asakura defeated also newcomer and debutant Nachi by unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27).
