Superior Challenge 8 Wiki
Superior Challenge 8 was originally scheduled to host a Light Heavweight title fight main-event between hometown fighter Ilir Latifi and veteran Jeff Monson. However, Monson was forced to withdraw from the bout due to contractual obligations to fight elsewhere. Monson was replaced by DJ Linderman, who also withdrew less than three weeks prior to the event taking place. He, in turn, was replaced by Jorge Oliveira, a 5-2 fighter making his return to mma after a near 2 year absence from professional combat, coming from a triangle armbar submission win over UFC veteran James Irvin in December 2010.
The co-main event was also shifted around as Karo Parysian left David Bielkheden without an opponent. From one high-profile opponent to the next, Bielkheden is now expected to face Marcus "The Irish Hand Grenade" Davis.
Another notable fighter on the card is The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights semi-finalist James McSweeney taking on Matti Mäkelä.
