The only thing that impacted the result of the fight was Conor's cheating...yet again. Just like the 2nd round against Khabib, we can make an argument that had Conor not been allowed to get away with blatant cheating then he would have been finished by both Khabib and Dustin in those fights.
Also that Instagram clip has been reposted everywhere. I don't see where the shin hits the elbow at all, he hits the forearm...and I've never heard nor seen anyone break someones shin blocking with their forearm...I have heard it the other way around tho...

CheckLeftHook,
You are right that his cheating did make Dustin stand up. That, in turn, made him fall back on his injured leg. Even if Dustin didn't stand up, Conor was going to get taken down again in the 2nd and finished.

I just think he would have been finished there on the ground in the 1st. Conor cracked Dustin with a good upkick but Dustin dove right into his guard and dropped nasty elbows down. Only reason he couldn't get better posture and stack to land bombs is Conor holding the gloves while kicking both legs into his face. You can see Conor went ALL IN for both of those guillotine attempts, his arms would have been jell-o the rest of the fight.
