Alexandre vs. Nelson Wiki Update Wiki

Alexandre and Nelson took to the cage for a featured lightweight bout on the prelims.

Alexandre landed a series of unanswered leg kicks throughout the first round, but Nelson checked many of them. A left hook and a right cross wobbled Nelson, who failed to turn in any offense of his own. Alexandre cornered Nelson against the cage and continued to light his legs up. The trend continued until the bell, with Nelson failing to put Alexandre in any danger.

Alexandre kept up his pace in the second then increased the tempo midway through the round, peppering Nelson with hooks and punches against the cage. Nelson hung in the fight, but seemed ill equipped to deal with the vastly superior striking of his opponent. Again Nelson tried to push back at the end of the round, but it was no use.

A heavy leg kick in the third round had Nelson limping and switching to a Southpaw stance. Alexandre continued to pepper Nelson against the fence steadily as Nelson's left knee swelled badly. Nelson gamely pushed forward at the end of the fight, but he continued to eat leg kicks with little to no offense of his own.

The judges scored the bout 30-27 across the board for Alexandre.
