Fisher vs. Stout III Wiki Update Wiki

The co-main event of UFC on FX 4 saw Spencer Fisher and Sam Stout meet in a lightweight rubber match.

The lightweight rivals met in the center of the Octagon and began trading punches right away, both landing solidly. Stout went to the body with hard hooks and it was Fisher landing the straights to the face early on. Fisher looked confident moving forward and landed the sharper shots to the head as Stout tried to regain his senses. Stout landed a left of his own and the rubber match was already looking like the pair's first two meetings. Stout blinked first and went for the takedown, working from Fisher's guard. Fisher defended himself well on his back as few of Stout's punches got through clean, and the Canadian striker allowed Fisher to stand in the final minute. Stout hit another double leg takedown but Fisher cage-walked quickly. Fisher landed a spinning backfist at the end of the first.

Stout had more success on his feet early in the second, going to the legs and body with kicks while Fisher relied on punching. The fighters clinched up and Fisher stayed on his feet this time and began to land his punches up high again. Stout had success when he went to the body with his hooks, as he could not seem to beat Fisher to the punch up high. Fisher controlled the center of the Octagon throughout as Stout circled around the perimeter, a mouse swelling under his right eye. A big left hook landed for Stout and both men were absorbing damage. Stout got a takedown as the final minute approached in a very close round and went to work with hooks to the body and short punches to the head.

Stout landed a pair of nice hooks t start the third and Fisher landed a spinning elbow with a left hand behind it. Fisher pushed Stout into the fence and landed knees to the body before breaking off. Stout landed occasional hard straights but Fisher continually landed crisp hooks coming forward. Stout landed a big body kick and Fisher landed another hook, and the pattern continued. Midway through the round Fisher had landed more shots and the damage was showing on Stout's face, but again Stout secured a double leg takedown, likely to sway the judges. Fisher cage-walked to his feet and the kickboxing continued. Stout fought hard for another takedown and got it in the final minute. Back on the feet, both men swung hard and Stout opened up a cut on Fisher's nose before the horn.

The judges scored the bout 30-27 across the board for Stout, giving him the Unanimous Decision victory.
