Ali and Kim took to the cage to kick off the Cage Warriors Fight Night 5 card in Amman, Jordan.

Kim kept his distance in the opening minute but Ali caught a high kick and countered with some hard punches against the cage that had Kim backing away. Ali pressed forward and Kim landed a few knees from the clinch before Ali got a takedown then landed more punches as Kim got back to his feet. Both fighters maintained their distance for a time before Ali pressed forward behind a flurry of punches that landed.

The opening stanza of the second round was much closer, with both fighters landing some kicks from range before Kim initiated a clinch. Ali landed some nice uppercuts breaking away from the clinch and Kim backed off again. Toward the end of the round, Kim landed some nice counters as Ali's pace slowed, but the Korean failed to put together consistent combinations.

Kim shot for a lazy takedown early in the third but Ali defended with a front headlock. Ali caught a body kick and got a takedown then defended a Triangle attempt from the bottom and stood. Kim got the better of the striking against a tired Ali in the final minutes, chasing the Egyptian around the cage and landing occasional hooks and straights.
