Weili Zhang VS Joanna Jędrzejczyk was the co-main event of UFC 248. Reigning champion Weili Zhang made her first title defense against the most dominant champion in the divisons history Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Throughout the fight Weili landed a lot of strikes on the forehead of Joanna which lead to Joanna developing a massive hematoma on her forehead, Joanna continued fighting despite the massive swelling. It was a back and forth fight which ended up going the distance with Weili winning a somewhat controversial split decision and retaining her belt. The fight earnt fight of the night honors and ended up being dubbed the Fight of the year 2020. The fight is widely regarded to be the greatest womans fight of all time and one of the all time greatest fights in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts.
