Reis and Dantas took to the cage for the third bantamweight tournament bout on the card.


Dantas came out with some nice body kicks, knocking Reis down with one. Dantas landed a glancing head kick. Reis swung and missed with heavy punches as Dantas continued to measure him up. Dantas landed a glancing knee and Reis caught him and drove him into the cage. Dantas pushed off and the fighters went back to the center. Reis continued to come up short with his strikes. Reis dodged a punch and took Dantas down, but Dantas popped back up quickly and Reis grabbed a rear body clinch and pushed him into the cage, where he worked knees to the thighs. Reis worked hard to drag Dantas to the ground, but was unsuccessful. The referee broke the fighters up and Dantas landed some nice straight punches on the restart. Dantas landed a nice leg kick. Reis landed a left hook. Reis landed abody kick but got tagged with another cross. Reis landed a left cross of his own. Dantas landed a flying knee that backed Reis up. Dantas landed a hard body kick to close out the round.


Reis went on the offensive with strikes to start the second round, but Dantas avoided easily. Dantas landed a push kick to the body. The fighters exchanged punches, most of which were blocked. Dantas chased an off-balance Reis across the cage and tagged him in the chin with a flying knee, knocking him down. Some follow-up punches rendered Reis unconscious as a formality, prompting Metheny to finally charge in and halt the fight.


The official end came 1:02 into the second round, giving Dantas the KO victory.
