Einemo vs. Herman Wiki Update Wiki

In the second pay per view televised bout of UFC 131, Dave "Pee Wee" Herman took on Jon Olav Einemo in a heavyweight bout. Both fighters were making their UFC organizational debut.

Einemo came bolting out of his corner but was stopped in his tracks with a Herman low kick. Einemo clinched up and worked hard to take Herman to the ground. Herman displayed good takedown defense and balance, keeping the fight on the feet. Einemo landed a couple of nice punches to the face of a smiling "Pee Wee" Herman. Herman landed a pair of strong low kicks and a well-timed knee as Einemo ducked down for a shot. In a big momentum change, Einemo caught Herman off balance and landed a takedown, quickly passing to side control. Herman, however, confidently pushed Einemo off and popped to his feet. Einemo landed several nice punches late in the round and capped it off with a takedown as the horn sounded.

Jon Olav Einemo had Herman on the defensive to begin round two, landing nice punches and a big knee in the clinch, backing Herman down and blasting him with strikes. After a brief pause to clean Herman's mouthpiece, Einemo hurt him badly and appeared to be on the verge of a knockout... only to see Herman crush Einemo with a massive knee and right hook to drop him. Herman dove on top clobbering Einemo with punches in a huge turn of events. Herman stood up and out, the two exchanged in a wild brawl until Herman dropped Einemo again, dove on top, and finished it off with strikes.

The official end came at 3:19 of round 2 via wild TKO. Speaking with Joe Rogan in the post-fight interview, Herman commented, "I like to think it was [a great fight] but I'm a little tired."
