Marshall vs. Cané Wiki Update Wiki

The second bout to air live on Spike TV from UFC 128 featured Luis Cane taking on Eliot Marshall. Marshall came into the bout 3-1 in previous UFC competition, and making his return to the organization after several fights in regional competition. Cane came into the fight 3-3 in prior UFC fights, including a 2-fight losing streak and in desperate need of a victory.

Marshall immediately worked for a takedown, and Cane landed several punches on Marshall, dropping him to the mat and blasting away as he stood over a hurt Eliot Marshall. Cane stood over dropping punches down as referee Dan Miragliotta carefully looked at the action. Marshall looked for a leg-lock out of desperation and Cane continued to pound away, landing a handful more punches to the head. The referee had seen enough and called the fight, giving an impressive victory to Luis Cane.

Speaking with Joe Rogan in the post-fight interview, Cane commented, "I wanted this win so bad, I trained so much for this fight, I lost two fights in a row, I came back to my gym The Armory."
