Lee vs. Takahashi Wiki Update Wiki

The seventh bout of Sengoku 15 matched up light heavyweights Chang Seob Lee against Pride veteran Yoshiki Takahashi.

Takahashi looked for a takedown to start, but Lee ended up in top position throwing hard strikes to Takahashi's head. Several of the blows hit the back of Takahashi's head, prompting referee Ryogoku Wada to pause the action, warn Lee, and stand the fight back up. Back on the feet Lee was effective with low kicks, landing several before Takahashi scored a takedown into side control. Takahashi locked up Lee's head and was able to elicit a tapout with a modified "leg armbar" that put Lee's arm in between his legs in order to gain leverage. The finish against a clearly inexperienced grappler in Lee came at 2:28 of the first round, and marked the first win for the 41 year old Takahashi in several years.
