So vs. Inoue Wiki Update Wiki

In the opening bout of Sengoku 15, Japan's Manabu Inoue took on South Korea's Jae Hyun So in one of the quarter-final bouts of the promotion's Asian Bantamweight Grand Prix.

The action hit the ground early with Inoue ending up in top position in So's guard. The shorter and stockier Inoue was able to maneuver to So's back momentarily but unable to threaten with any submissions before losing the advantageous position. The first round ended without much damage inflicted by either competitor, yet Inoue controlling the action.

Round two again quickly hit the mat with Inoue the superior grappler. A scramble led Inoue to taking the back and attempting a guillotine, allowing So to jump back to his feet and attempt to exchange strikes. Unfortunately for So he was again quickly taken down where Inoue was able land a handful of knee strikes and likely seal the fight in his favor.

Inoue picked up a unanimous decision victory and earned a ticket to the semi-finals of the tournament.
