There was a confusion regarding the result since during the fight Romanowski was reprimanded several times by the referee for losing the mouth guard and the end came when his mouth guard went flying during a flurry of punches from Mirzaev. However the unanswered strikes were what made the referee stop the fight and the official result published by Fight Nights was "Technical Knockout".
