Not sure if he can pull that off. MMA Weekly is the source.

It doesn't say much for the level of civilization in the country if the would actually lynch someone.
Maybe he'd get shit thrown at him or something, but if that's how things actually are down there I guess it's not the paradise it looks like in pictures.

I don't think it speaks to a country's civilization...it only takes one or two idiots to create scary situation, especially with "mob mentality"

when the lakers with the finals and the city of LA gets set on fire it doesn't speak to the civilization of America

IT wont happen. But I seriously think that this event something badd will happen if Sonnen pulls off the win. Its actually a scary thought.

@arm really? People are not agressive in the states? ever? Don't even get me started. As it has been mentioned it only takes a few people and as Canada (a very peacefull country) shows us a riot can start anywhere.

I'm pretty sure that if Chael insulted the south in that way and went to fight there there would be even bigger security concern becuase of legions of gun nuts there.

People are still people.  Just because they're from another nation doesn't make them any more deadly or dangerous as fans than somewhere else.  As already stated, a riot can happen anywhere.  It seems pretty prejudice to say that just because they're Brazilians, that they are going to haul off and murder Chael if he wins in a legitimate sport contest.

@Hybrid nope. I mean the people who are in gun organizations and belive they should be allowed to carry guns everywhere and fight for it actively. People who talk all that BS about self defense. Though to be honest I just meant people with guns that are nuts ;)

I understand guns can be a hobby the same way as anything else.

I think people should fight for their 2nd Ammendment rights.  Gun laws are just keeping honest people honest.  A thug on the street looking to take anything and everything from you, up to and including your life, aren't going to seek out a concealed carry permit because they want to follow the law.  However, the innocent victim will, and now he or she is unarmed against an armed suspect.

@RWL but some people want the right to carry them to schools or trains. Do you really have a ton of thugs on trains?

Also do you realize why the "thugs" can easily get guns? Because loose gun laws make the supply of guns larger. It's not only harder to police but these laws simply make it easier to illegaly obtain guns. Also a larger % of real nuts will get guns. How many gun related crimes you have in the US? Not to mention famous cases like Virginia tech, columbine, assasination attempts on famous people and polititians. Such things are unheard of in here.

In most countries in Europe it's very hard to get guns and what may be strange for you they are much safer places and very few peoples have guns. We had an organized crime problem some time ago and due to a lower supply of guns (and it was much higher here than in the western europe) if you saw the mobs arsenal you would laugh.

btw. The 2nd ammendment was put into place when it was possible for the people to overthrow the government with guns. Right now first it's not an option anyone in the civilized world thinks about outside of crazy redneck paramilitary groups and second when you think about the how overblown US military is you stand no chance with your guns. If the govt really decided to fight you you would get smartbombed to hell.

In Canada, the government can do whatever it wants and not get too much of a reaction, but if our team loses in the Stanley Cup finals, we're going apeshit.

The only thing Chael should have to worry about is Anderson Silva. His safety in Brazil I believe is a serious concern. Anthing that Chael has said in the past he might have to "pay" for but the only brazilian that should be able to make him pay is Silva. I'm sure the fight happening in Brazil was a stipulation that Silva wanted. No way was this Dana's idea.

Don't know why we're talking about gun laws, but 2nd Amendment for the win.
