Paul Sass Wiki
Paul Sass holds a purple belt in Luta Livre under Marcelo Brigadeiro and also a world record in MMA for pulling off 7 consecutive wins by Triangle choke earning him the nickname "Sassangle" as well as a world record. They also led him to a fight against Rob Sinclair which he won by Split Decision earning him the OMMAC lightweight title. He would defend that belt once with a heel hook submission over Jason Young before being signed to the UFC.
In his UFC debut Sass was able to defeat Mark Holst by triangle choke earning himself submission of the night in his first fight for the promotion. Sass continued to show his ground skills with a first round submission victory over Michael Johnson followed by submission of the night over Jacob Volkmann. However Sass would drop his next 2 fights to Matt Wiman and Danny Castillo and would get cut from the UFC. Following his cut from the UFC Sass would then sign with Bellator picking up a win over Rod Montoya
by submission.
