Anying Wang Wiki
"Smiley" Anying Wang is a Chinese UFC fighter in the welterweight division. He competed on TUF China as a member of Team Flying Lions under head coach Hailin Ao. Wang prefers striking to grappling and has been training in sanda since 2008 with an emphasis on muay thai.
On TUF China in the Elimination Round, Wang's opponent Fu Ziyi failed to make weight giving him an unheard of free pass to the final four. In episode 11 (aired 1/25/14), Wang Sai defeated Anying Wang by rear-naked choke in the second round to make the finals. "Smiley" settled for making his UFC debut March 1, 2014 at Fight Night: Kim vs. Hathaway where he won by TKO (eye injury) at 5:00 of the first round over Albert Cheng. The round was fairly uneventful but Cheng's eye kept swelling near the end of the round until it shut between rounds, possibly due to a broken orbital.
Wang's next bout was August 23, 2014 at Fight Night 48: Bisping vs. Le where he faced newly signed prospect Colby Covington. Wang faced the first defeat of his professional career by tapping to strikes with only ten seconds left of the first round.
