Shakhbulat Shamkhalaev Wiki
Shahbulat Shamhalaev is a Russian mixed martial artist currently competing in the featherweight division. He has a background in Muay Thai. He was a world champion in 2007 as well as a Kickboxing Russian National Champion, Sanshou Russian National Champ and a Karate Russian National Champion. He would make his MMA debut in 2009 and would amass a 9-1-1 record before coming to the United States, his only loss being to future UFC fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Shamhalaev would make his Bellator debut in Season 7 of the featherweight tournament with a TKO finish of Cody Bollinger. He would then punch his ticket to the finals with another TKO finish over Mike Richman. Shamhalaev would win the tournament by knocking out Rad Martinez in the second round, winning the tournament title, $100,000 and a shot at the Bellator Featherweight Champion. And with the injury to Daniel Strauss, Shamhalaev will now face off for the title at Bellator 95 against Pat Curran.
