While fans were relatively split over who would come out on top of the anticipated rematch between Mike Thomas Brown and Urijah Faber, Brown left little room for argument. He handed Faber a five-round beating, including two broken hands, in one of the best fights of the year in June of 2009 at WEC 41. With the victory, Brown had solidified his position as the best featherweight on the planet, and had validated his first win over Faber.
In other action, dangerous contender Jose Aldo knocked out Cub Swanson with a did-you-see-that double flying knee just eight seconds into the first round, emerging as the top contender to Brown’s belt.
