UFC 42 Wiki
In what was one of the most disappointing Pay Per View performances in Zuffa, LLC-owned UFC history, UFC 42, which featured a Welterweight Championship fight between Matt Hughes and Sean Sherk, drew a paltry 35,000 buys.
In the main event, Hughes, the dominant title holder, largely controlled the smaller Sherk as he ground out a five-round decision to remain champion. The event also marked the UFC debut of future Middleweight Champion Rich Franklin, and was the first UFC event that took place in Florida.
