In the most highly anticipated grudge match in UFC history, former Light Heavyweight Champions Rashad Evans and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson met in the main event of UFC 114, fighting for all the marbles. After a season of The Ultimate Fighter reality series developed the rivalry, and Jackson delayed their meeting in the cage with his filming of the summer action movie “The A-Team,” the bout was finally on. While many fans thought Jackson’s knockout power would be the difference-maker, it never played a serious factor in the fight, as Evans displayed superior all around skills, especially in the wrestling department, to earn the Unanimous Decision. The event reportedly drew over 1 Million Pay Per View buys.
