Easton and Papazian took to the cage for a clash between up-and-coming bantamweights.
The fighters clinched up and exchanged vicious punches in the clinch, with both landing, before Papazian clinched Easton against the cage. Easton reversed him and the fighters exchanged knees in the clinch and continued to battle for underhooks. The fighters were separated and traded leg kicks. Papazian winged and missed on a huge right hand but landed a hook to the body then another upstairs. Easton went to the leg with a kick as Papazian countered with a jab. Easton landed a knee from a brief clinch then the fighters broke away. Easton landed a spinning back kick to the body but took a counter. The fighters traded punches in the clinch again at the end of the round.
Easton went back to the leg kick in the second round as Papazian circled. Easton landed a good left hook and Papazian answered with an uppercut. The fighters traded strikes in close range again. Easton popped Papazian with a straight punch but Papaizan clinched him into the fence. Yamasaki broke the fighters up and Papazian landed a nice hook. Papazian clinched Easton into the fence again but Easton tripped him and got the takedown, passing to side control. Papazian got back to his feet and Easton landed a flush hook then defended a takedown at the bell.
Again the fighters turned up the pace in an early striking exchange before Papazian clinched Easton against the cage. Papazian claimed a low blow and took a brief respite before the action resumed. Papazian defended a takedown and the two exchanged punches again. The crowd erupted on another exchange as Papazian landed more strikes while Easton landed with more power. Papazian looked to be fading a bit as Easton landed a knee to the chin. Papazian pushed Easton into the fence again. Papazian began to land more upstairs as Easton went back to with with the leg kicks then tripped Papazian to the ground, but Papazian popped up quickly. Papazian landed some nice punches before the bell.
The judges scored the bout 29-28, 30-27, and 29-29 for Easton, giving him the Majority Decision victory.
