Ronda Rousey vs. Miesha Tate

The main event of Strikeforce: Tate vs Rousey featured women's bantamweight champion Miesha Tate defending her title against Ronda Rousey.

Tate came out swinging hard punches, landing one but Rousey immediately grabbed ahold and threw her to the mat. Rousey worked from side control and latched on an armbar. Tate fought valiantly through the submission despite the arm appearing to be hyperextended, and took Rousey's back. Rousey fought her way out of danger and stood over Tate, delivering a punch to the face. Tate stood back up and was tripped to the ground. The fighters again stood up and Tate landed a pair of nice punches, but was thrown back to the ground. Rousey took full mount and then moved to Tate's back. Rousey punched away with ground and pound and then grabbed the arm, slowly prying it away and viciously bending it out of shape with Tate refusing to tap. As the arm was completely hyperextended and injured, Tate finally tapped out.

The official end came at 4:27 of the first round with Rousey winning via armbar submission. Speaking with Mauro Ranallo in the post-fight interview, Rousey commented, "I didn't talk my way into that one [armbar]... [dedicates fight to her father]... She's much more savvy on the ground than I anticipated, she's good, she's legit, but I don't feel that bad about it... I was really impressed with her [Kaufman's] performance, whatever the fans want to see, I actually feel like Kaufman got cheated out of this title shot."

Ranallo also visited with Tate, who commented, "It's a little sore but I wanted to come out here and give you guys a fight... she's a hell of an athlete."
