The original scores read 2x47-47 and a 49-47 in favour of Yan for a majority draw, however after including the point deduction for Yan for repeated fouls (headbutts) that took place a few seconds before the final bell, the final scores were 2x47-46 and 47-48 in favour of Magomedov giving him the split decision win. A rematch was proposed by the promoter and verbally agreed to by both fighters during the post fight interviews. Both fighters have also earned the $5000 Fight of the Night bonus.
