Bethe Correia Wiki

Bethe Correia is a Brazillian womens bantamweight fighter currently signed to the UFC. She holds a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and a blue belt in Kung Fu and trains out of the Pitbull Brothers gym in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. She has previously fought for Jungle Fight. She holds a degree in accounting and worked as an Accountant prior to her fighting career. Of her seven professional wins, only one has been a finish with it coming by T/KO. She is currently undefeated in her seven fight career.

Correia began her fighting career in 2012 fighting in regional shows around Brazil. By the middle of 2013, she had been signed to the premier Brazilian promotion, Jungle Fight. She would win her only fight with the company by decision.

In late 2013, Bethe would be signed to the UFC. She made her promotional debut against long time women's fighter, Julie "Fireball" Kedzie. Although she was the underdog going into the fight, she was able to pick up a controversial split decision to maintain her undefeated record.

Bethe's next fight in the UFC was on April 26th, 2014 against The 4 Horsewomen member Jessamyn "The Gun" Duke at UFC 172: Jones vs. Teixeira.  She battered the much taller Duke for the better part of three rounds, and even survived a couple dicey situations on the ground en route to a unanimous decision victory (30-27, 29-28, 30-27).   Correia was the more aggressive and active fighter from the start, and she never let up even as Duke seemed to fade. The Brazilian had surprisingly little trouble getting inside Duke’s reach, and once there she unleashed damaging punch combos that kept Duke on the defensive.

Bethe's next fight is against another member of the The 4 Horsewomen "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler  at UFC 176: Aldo vs. Mendes 2.  Bethe has stated her desire to beat all 4 members of The 4 Horseman, but to continue this goal she would need to beat Shayna Baszler first.  Bethe would indeed complete that task finishing Baszler in the second round with punches. After the fight she would call out Ronda Rousey.

After two wins over Rousey's friends, Bethe was scheduled to fight for the title against Ronda Rousey at UFC 190 in Rio de Janeiro. Correia made a lot of bad comments, including a joke about Rousey's dad suicide. After a lot of bad blood, Bethe was knocked out in just 34 seconds, losing her first fight in her professional career.

After the loss, Bethe is scheduled to face Raquel Pennington at UFC on Fox 19.
