Alright folks,

As you might know I'm Tapology Boxing editor. I know the majority of you guys are here for MMA, so was I originally. But for the last year or 2 there is a little more interest in Boxing on the site.

So here's a place to talk boxing.

Yeah, I just read that article in the past hour.   Very sad, not even 30 with so much life ahead only to be taken.  RIP

Looking over his record, he had some good wins and his only loss was also against another promising fighter so it looks like he was at that exciting stage of his career where he was starting to take a step up in competition and get some really tough matchups. It would've been very interesting to see how far he could've gone. R.I.P. Cem Kilic.

58 year old makes his professional boxing debut (Full Fight video)

A 58 year old boxer sets the world record for the oldest person to make their professional boxing debut. Fair play to him for getting in the ring but I can't believe this got sanctioned as a professional fight.

JUSTICE FOR GRAMPS!!!!!

Last night Vergil Ortiz got a nice n easy comeback.  Made even easier by Tony Weeks jumping in early!
Great to see Virgil back tho. He was maybe the no.1 under 23 boxer a few years ago before he had some serious health issues.  Hopefully he's over that and he can go on to fulfill his massive potential.

But the story of the night was Justice For Grampa Barroso  !!!  Remember last year Barroso was beating Rollies Romero ass, dropped.him won every round until late in the 9th(I think?) Rollies landed a lucky punch, stunned Barroso slighty, missed 5 of 6 follow up punches and Tony Weeks (that man again!) jumped in and stopped the fight.  Gifting Rollies a World Title (it's the biggest joke in all of boxing that guy is a World Champion! ) and robbing Barroso of his deserved win.
Anyhoo!!! Last night Gramps had a 2nd chance at a Title (an Interim because Rollies is a biatch!!) Vs Ohara Davies (who is also pretty ****e!!!). Still Davies was something like-500 to win. What does old Papa Barroso go and do? Only goes and KOs Ohara in the very 1st round!!!!

LET'S GO GRAMPS!!!!!

My only guess is that it was just to fulfil a lifelong dream to have a professional boxing match or something. According to BoxRec, he's been suspended by the Tennessee Athletic Commission (who shouldn't have sanctioned it in the first place) indefinitely so I think that's the end of Scot England's boxing career.

Automatic medical suspension for the KO.  Though it would be criminal if that was ever removed since he would need to request reinstatement which he should not get.

Also, dude was like a boxing journalist with a lot of connections I believe.  Was friends with Muhammad Ali for years

Bad news out of Japan this morning as Kazuki Anaguchi, the fighter who collapsed after his fight on the undercard of the Inoue-Tapales event, unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.  Another one gone too young.  Rest in peace

Horrible news.
I have been checking up since he was 1st admitted to hospital.  Was hoping for a positive outcome.
Just another reminder that Boxing is not like any other sport.  Since I started editing for Tapology I have seen at least 20 deaths due to blows received to the head.  Because you don't hear about events in Tanzania, Indonesia, Thailand etc. So you don't hear about the deaths that occur.  Like I said, at least 20, maybe 30 since I started in late 2019.  Its ****** horrible and a reason why I greatl  respect fighters.

Many of the victims finished the fight and did not start showing symptoms til after the bout. It's not always a huge blow that does the damage it's the accumulation of the shots over time.

Anyway, just **** news to hear and a reminder that fighters deserve some respect.

So sad to hear about. That's always a risk in this sport but it never any less tragic when it occurs. My thoughts are with his loved ones and hope that they can find some sort of comfort in knowing that he died doing what he loved, as little of a silver lining as that is. R.I.P. Kazuki Anaguchi.

Some good news....

After a ****** few days in boxing with another young life lost and the Fury Usyk postponement there was some great news yesterday.

FINALLY!!!!!! Artur Beterbiev (Key member of my all violence team!) finally faces Dmitry Bivol (Maybe the best jab in all boxing and recen  Canelo conqueror) for the Undisputed Light Heavyweight Title on 1st June from Saudi Arabia!!!

https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/events/110238-beterbiev-is-bivol

Shout out to Big Turkey al Sheikh!!!!!  1 of the best fights that can b  made in all boxing (at least top 3).  Cant feckin wait!!!!!

Oh and just so you know Beterbiev is gonna break Bivol down and stop him late (I'm betting on Beterbiev KO between 8 and 12)

Saudis have been the saviors of boxing man. Next stop is clear though, Canelo vs Benavidez, forget bigger charlo and crawford, we want the mexican showdown. If saudis get it on, it's gonna be in Saudi but Mexico would the perfect scenario
